My husband, Jeff, and I both tend to be very private about the less attractive stories in our personal life, but perhaps here is the place to share some some of the hard stuff we have been through, both together and before we found each other. Maybe it's time because the real story isn't the "crap" and how we got through it, but the fact that we're still standing.... still loving God and still hoping for the future.

 

Between us, Jeff and I have been arrested, served time, been divorced, been pregnant outside of marriage, raised a blended family, had multiple abortions, been rejected by family, watched loved ones die, including children, had a home foreclosed on and been fired from jobs we loved, me... more than once.

 

Still, I think the real story is that none of it destroyed us and all of it taught us something, made us better (certainly smarter) and taught us that even though life can totally suck, it is also incomparably a gift from God.

 

I think the thing about being a Christian isn't that life is better, easier, or smoother, it's that God gives us the gift of life abundant, the promise of life forever and His personal Word that "I will never leave you or forsake you" as we go through this life and what comes after.

 

For Jeff and I, this is everything... and though we are sure more "crap" will come in this life and even though we may be scared or even a little lost, all life comes from God and His assurance that He will "do life" with us... His promise is enough... it's everything!

 

We are God's masterpieces!
